London Marathon for The Seafarers' Charity

The Seafarers' Charity London Marathon 2027

🚢 Running 26.2 Miles for Those Who Keep the World Moving 🏃‍♂️🌊

I am beyond thrilled to announce that I have officially signed up to run the London Marathon on 25th April 2027, and I will be taking on this incredible challenge in support of The Seafarers Charity.
Why This Charity?
Working in shipping and project logistics, I am fortunate to witness firsthand how global trade actually happens. Over the years, I've had the chance to meet hundreds of seafarers around the world—the hardworking crews on the front lines of our industry.
By listening to their stories, hearing about months spent away from loved ones, navigating treacherous weather, and dealing with the immense pressures of life at sea, one reality has become crystal clear: it is not an easy life. Seafarers are the unseen heartbeat of our global economy, and too often, the sacrifices they make go unnoticed.
That is why I want to give back to an organization that looks out for their wellbeing, safety, and mental health when they need it most.
Training for 42.195 km (26.2 miles) is going to demand early mornings, countless hours pounding the pavement, and plenty of discipline between now and April 2027. But whenever the training gets tough, I'll just be thinking of the crews out on the water, keeping the world turning.
I’ll be sharing regular updates on my training progress, milestones, and fundraising events over the coming months.
How you can help:
Donate: Every little bit helps make a massive difference for seafarers and their families.
Share: Spread the word about the vital work The Seafarers Charity does.
Cheer: Save the date—25th April 2027—and if you're in London, I'll definitely need all the loud cheers I can get on course!
Thank you all so much for your support. Let’s do this! ⚓💪

My Updates

Week 6 - October 12th

Tuesday 13th Oct

Another solid week of running in the books! 🏃‍♂️💨

Two big highlights made this one extra special:

📍 Scotland Run: Got to log some miles up in Aberdeen—always great exploring new routes.

📍 Hampton Court Half Marathon (The Main Event): Executed the race plan perfectly! Stuck strictly to marathon pace for the first 15 km, then opened up the engine for the final 6 km to cross the line with my 3rd fastest time ever at this distance. ⏱️🔥

Best of all was being greeted at the finish line by my two favorite supporters! ❤️🏁

Now taking a couple of well-earned rest days to let the legs recover before taking the training over to Italy! 🇮🇹👟

Week 5 - October 4th

Tuesday 6th Oct
Even though last week's temperatures remained unseasonably warm, it's hard to complain about the extra sunshine. However, the seasonal shift is becoming undeniable; my early morning runs have been met with the very first autumn fogs. Overall, it was an excellent week of training, banked with some solid, high-tempo sessions. I'll be taking things a bit lighter over the next few days to save my energy for the Hampton Court Half Marathon Sunday.

Week 4 - September 27th

Tuesday 29th Sep
Last week’s training was a bit less about clocking high mileage and a lot more about speed and pace! 🏃‍♂️💨 The highlight was definitely getting out for a couple of early morning runs in Hamburg before heading into WindEnergy with my deugro colleagues. Nothing beats starting the day with a crisp morning run in a new city! 🌅✨

Week 3 - September 20th

Monday 21st Sep

Last week, I clocked almost 50km across a mix of different training sessions. The highlight was definitely Sunday's long run, where I logged 23km to finish the week strong.

Grateful for the progress and keeping the momentum going into this week! 📈✨

Week 2 - September 13th

Monday 14th Sep
London Marathon training is officially in full swing! 🏃‍♂️💨
Last week was a big one, racking up 53 km with a mix of different training styles to keep the legs guessing and the progress on track.
One of the absolute highlights has been exploring and running through London's incredible parks—there truly is nothing quite like logging those miles surrounded by that much green and wildlife in the middle of the city. 🌳✨

Week 1 - September 06th

Monday 7th Sep
Last week was a big one on the road! 🏃‍♂️💨 I logged a total of 49 km, mixed across different types of training sessions to build endurance and speed.
Every mile is bringing me one step closer to my main goal: on October 11th, I’ll be tackling a half marathon as a key milestone in my training plan! 🏅
