Run2Paris Sept 2026

I'm fundraising for...

That's right me and the team are running to Paris. You heard, from London to Paris on foot, in just 4 days. Wish us luck, but more importantly, please donate. Your donation will support Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex and Samaritans. I really appreciate your support.

My Updates

Alex's final thoughts before leaving home

Wednesday 9th Sep
I didn't sleep much last night. Ironically, I was lying awake thinking about how little sleep I'm going to get over the next four days.
The overriding feeling this morning, though, is excitement. I'm nervous too. If I'm honest, my legs on Days 1 and 3 are both over 25 km, the last time I ran that far was London Marathon training back in 2019. I'd sort of assumed every day would be about a half marathon, and on average it is, but once you add the hills and the long legs on those two days it's going to be a fair bit harder than I'd pictured. That's probably another reason why I was awake.
Anyway, I'm packed, Mike's picking me up in an hour, and I have an unreasonable quantity of carb-loaded snacks.
I'm proud of what we've raised for Samaritans (https://www.samaritans.org) and Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (https://www.aakss.org.uk). Tomorrow, as we set off, is World Suicide Prevention Day, which feels like exactly the right day to be running for Samaritans.
I'm really looking forward to four days with the HI Runners team. Joining a running club is one of the best decisions I've made. It's had a more positive impact on my life than I expected, and there's something about the way HI Runners welcomes everyone, whatever pace you run at, that I don't think is common. I feel lucky to be doing this with them. https://www.facebook.com/hirunners14

Right. Let's go.

Fundraising Prize Draw

Thursday 3rd Sep
We're only ONE WEEK out from the start of Run2Paris (Thu 10 to Sun 13 September), and every day of the challenge we're running a prize draw where you can guess the total number of minutes the team will take to run all five legs that day - closest guesses will win prizes!
There are four days, so four opportunities to win! Entries are open from now until the start of each day's running. It's totally free to enter; but when you submit your guess, we'll send you off to our team fundraising page where you can donate if you want to - we're raising money for two amazing charities who save lives of people in crisis: Samaritans, and Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex. If you've already donated, thank you!
Find out more and submit your guesses for each of the four days here:
Day 1: Wimbledon to Newhaven https://tally.so/r/XxPNaY
Day 2: Dieppe to Forges-les-Eaux https://tally.so/r/7RrjjL
Day 3: Forges-les-Eaux to Jambville https://tally.so/r/b5Qgy2
Day 4: Jambville to Paris: https://tally.so/r/0QRGy0
We're still on the lookout for more prizes - let me know if you know anyone who might be willing to donate something - anything is welcome!
We'll update here next week with live-tracking details, in case you want to follow along.
Feel free to share the prize draw links with your friends and family, but note: some prizes are local-specific, so it’s probably best if the winners are local.

Bake sale success at the HI Runners Summer Series

Wednesday 27th May

Last Thursday, we held our bake sale at the HI Runners Summer Series under our brand-new HI Runners club gazebos.

It was great to see so many people stopping by, supporting the stall, and enjoying the homemade cakes. We had lots of very positive comments about the bakes, and thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised a fantastic £273 for the Run2Paris charities.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated cakes, helped run the stall, and contributed on the day. Your support made a real difference, and we’re very grateful.

Bake Sale at HI Runners Summer Series

Friday 15th May

This Thursday, 21 May, we’ll be holding a bake sale at the HI Runners Summer Series to help raise money for the Run2Paris charities.

There’ll be plenty of homemade treats available, so please come along, support the runners, and pick up something tasty while helping us raise funds for a great cause.

We’ll be able to take card payments and cash, so please bring your preferred means of payment. You’ll also be able to donate directly to our fundraising page on the day.

Every contribution makes a difference and will help support the charities we’re fundraising for through the Run2Paris challenge.

Thank you in advance for your support — and we hope to see you there!

Couch to Croissant: Running to Paris

Sunday 15th Mar

This September, I’m taking on the Run to Paris charity challenge — combining a love of running with an excellent excuse to think about croissants and croque-monsieurs for several months straight.

I’ve done plenty of running before, but this feels like a proper adventure. Every mile helps support a great cause, so if you’d like to follow along, cheer me on, or donate, I’d really appreciate it. Paris at the finish line feels like decent motivation.

Thank you to my Sponsors
