Team Escar-Go! - Nick, Kate, Rob, James and Josh
Together, we’re taking on a truly audacious challenge: running non‑stop from London to Paris as a five‑person relay team in the Run 2 Paris event. We’re doing it for a cause close to our hearts - Parkinson’s UK - and we’d love your help.
For each of us - Nick, Kate, Rob, James and Josh - Parkinson’s Disease is personal.
· Josh recently lost his dad to this devastating condition.
· Kate, Rob and Nick’s dad, Mike, is still living with its daily impact.
That’s why we’re united behind Parkinson’s UK, an organisation relentlessly pursuing better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
Run 2 Paris is a four‑day, 240 km relay that will see us as a team of five run from London to the Eiffel Tower, each runner covering a half‑marathon (about 21 km) every day. By the time the finish tape snaps under the iron lattice of Paris, we will each have strung together four consecutive half‑marathons - roughly two full marathons in total - on back‑to‑back days. Our journey weaves through English country lanes, crosses the Channel by ferry, and dices through French villages, all while we refuel at pop‑up campsites and hand the baton from one pair of tired legs to the next. It’s a mix of ultra‑adventure and road‑trip camaraderie, and every step raises vital funds for Parkinson’s UK.
Why Parkinson’s UK needs our support
· Parkinson’s robs the brain of dopamine as key nerve cells die.
· 153,000 people in the UK are living with the condition, making it the fastest‑growing neurological disorder in the world.
· There are more than 40 symptoms; the most familiar are tremor, slowed movement and muscle rigidity.
· They is no cure currently.
