Run2Paris Sept 2025

The beginning...

When a mate asks you, do you want to run to Paris?, it's worth looking in to what it entails.

I thought there may be SOME running involved, but turns out, there's a LOT of running involved.
4 x half marathons in 4 days, consecutively, all 5 of us.
There's also a van, a ferry, a tent and I'm guessing, not a lot of sleep.

Now, I don't mind a bimble out and about every now and again. But I've only done 2 half marathons in my whole life, so this is gonna be a challenge. Especially as I have old man knees, and hair.

Although this will be a beast of a challenge, I can't wait to get going.

We're not just doing this to boost our egos, the Run2Paris event raises vital funds for charity.

The 2 chosen charities are Parkinson's UK, and SSAFA - The Armed Forces Charity.
The impact your fundraising will make will change lives, from investing in cutting edge medical research into finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease to offering a last minute grant to keep a veteran in their home.

Any little bit counts, so donate what you can whilst we contemplate the consequences of what we've signed up to.

My Updates

More training....

Wednesday 16th Jul
I'm hoping when we get to Paris, there's a new set of knees waiting for me as you can now hear mine from about half a mile away.

Must admit though, running at this time of year around the Glossopdale area is great. There are some stunning routes and I'm lucky that they're right on my doorstep.

I've been trying me best to up the mileage, up the intensity and I've been draggling a few mates around with me.

According to my watch, I ran 12 miles in Feb, 54 miles in March, 34 in April, 47 in May, 60 in June and 22 so far in July - that doesn't include the Treadmill!

If you've not dropped us a few quid yet, please do as it's not for us - it's for 2 great Charities.

We get the privilege of being part of an awesome event and hopefully getting some memories that last a lifetime.

Kev.

Training

Tuesday 28th Jan
Trying my hardest to get back in to it after the MEGA-LURGY after Christmas.

My treadmill died so had to invest in a new one, but at least the weather isn't as garbage so at least I can get out and about again - I am definitely a fair weather runner.

The Longdendale Trail and the surrounding reservoirs will definitely be seeing a lot of the underside of my feet in the coming months. Really lucky to have this on my doorstep.

As long as my knees hold up, the training will continue and hopefully set me in good stead for September. :)
