Why I'm Running to Paris in Aid of Parkinson's UK and SSAFA

Hello All,

As many of you know, I'm very much into my sport and this year I want to use it as a force for making a difference. This year, I'm taking my sporting madness to a new level by participating in the run2paris event. But, though this challenge will be about endurance & personal achievement; more importantly, it's a mission to raise awareness and funds for two remarkable charities: Parkinson's UK and SSAFA.

Parkinson's UK is at the forefront of the battle against Parkinson's disease, a condition that affects more than 145,000 people in the UK alone. This charity doesn't just fund groundbreaking research to find a cure; it also offers essential support to those living with the disease and their families, ensuring they're not alone in their fight.

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing lifelong support to our forces and their families since 1885. Every year, SSAFA helps more than 55,000 individuals from the Armed Forces community, offering everything from financial assistance to mental health support. Their work ensures that our veterans and their families have the support they need and deserve.

Why run2paris? It's simple. I want to push my own personal limits and I want the added motivation of doing it for those who face far greater challenges every day. Parkinson's UK and SSAFA work tirelessly to support communities that confront immense obstacles, and by joining this event, I hope to play my part in their incredible efforts.

But I can't do this alone.
