I'm fundraising for...
That's right me and the team are running to Paris. You heard, from London to Paris on foot, in just 4 days. Wish us luck but more importantly please donate. Your donation will go towards two really important causes, Supporting Parkinson's UK and SSAFA. I really appreciate your support.
My Updates
April fools
In March I ran a half marathon in Lisbon, that was hot & sunny, but not my favourite event as it was very disorganised, crowded and a bit of a boring route. Time was under my 2 hour target so that was pleasing. Some of this training must be paying off. What is noticeable is that recovery is much quicker, I could walk up & down stairs the day after which was handy in the hilly city of Lisbon, also pastel de nata is great recover food!
I also managed 5 days away in France with my brother for some "high altitude training" or running & cycling up big hills. We had an excellent time and did some pain-full exercise. Vin-full too.
Thanks for reading, for the support and the sponsorship. Later this month I'm trying a new style of running event, a "backyard" run. Watch this space for an update on that next month.

Marching forward
Training this month has been steady, I'm trying to also fit in cycle training for an upcoming tri the month after R2P. I'm trying to incorporate more stretching into my days, as I think one of the challenges for me will be the aches & pains from running combined with camping. I was very pleased to see that at least my watch thinks I'm fit with my running score being "Superior" for the first time ever.
Team news. We've gone with a team name change to "Baguette up and go". We've taken a team pic of the 5 of us in team kit, and the club has recently run a charity jazz evening to help raise money.
New Year, new speed?
The training is really paying off as my half marathon time was the fastest I've run that distance since 2015.
We've started the logistics of running to Paris with some planning meetings; which cars are we taking, how many stops for cheese & baguettes will there be, important stuff likethat.
Thanks again for the sponsorship folks, it really helps me focus on training for this big event. Cheers
Heading into Xmas
We've been running on Cleeve hill, sometimes beautiful sometimes wet & windy, always brutal with the hills.
Mileage is approx 50k per week. Something must be going right as I had a quick 10k (50:34) at Westonbirt on day 4 of running.
I fully expect a week of Christmas over indulgence will slow me down a bit, but overall I'm pleased with progress so far.
End of October
Amazing response from my fb post, and thanks to all who sponsored me. Now I've really got to do it.
