I'm running the London Marathon 2024!
I'll be running it to raise funds for The Seafarers’ Charity (theseafarerscharity.org).
The charity has been around since 1917, when it was launched as King George’s Fund for Sailors. Today is operates as an umbrella organisation providing grants to maritime charities: in 2023 it gave 67 grants to 50 organisations, including The Sailors’ Society, The Mission to Seafarers, Stella Maris, Nautilus Welfare Fund and UK Women in Fisheries CIC.
I'm a marathon first-timer and I was inspired to enter to raise funds for a charity which is important to me and closely aligned with the work that I do.
So far, the training has been going well but it will be that bit easier knowing that when I dig deep to reach the finish line, it will be matched by you digging deep to help others!
