The challenges ahead!

Sunday 12th Jul

The event: 5 friends from Zurich 
running from London to Paris over 4 days, each running around a half marathon per day! 

As we find out more about the event, it appears that there are many challenges beyond the running!

First we need to navigate alone with high chances of getting lost (no marking and only 30 participants on the course at one time). 

Secondly we find out that our first night is on a ferry. The ferry departs at 11pm and arrives at 5am (plus losing an hour en route) - max 4 hours sleep and no cabin, just find a place to bed down on the floor 🫨!

That was going to be our best night’s sleep as the next two are in tents in fields. The prospect of running with no sleep and aching bodies from sleeping on camping gear suddenly makes the challenge that more difficult (and slightly terrifying!).

On the first team call with the event organisers we heard about the charities we are fundraising for. 

The KSS Air Ambulance charity who save lives in emergencies in the Kent, Sussex & Surrey area (where we are running through). 

The Samaritans who help people in crisis through the power of human connection to prevent suicides and support loved ones left behind.  

Please help us out by donating ! We need to raise at least £1500 by 10 Aug and £2000 before the race starts on 10 Sept.

PS if anyone wants to join us in Paris at the end, we will be celebrating the finish in a pub close to the Eiffel Tower on Sun 13 Sept !
